I coincidentally fell in love with this movie. it has a heartwarming story and the lovely ending that made me cry. the music it's simple but lovely.

The first mistake we all make is to expect it to match with the type of films what Isao Takahata, Hayao Miyazaki, Mamoru Hosada and few others direct. I meant thematically; either sci-fi, fantasy or the drama with the teen or the tween characters in the lead. Because technically this was a wonderful animation, but I was not impressed with the story, otherwise as usual, my writing would have been very long with the film quotes and other discussions.

For the beautifully sketched characters like this, the film totally wasted an opportunity. Should have been a beautiful love story or a pure fantasy, but it was a bit of uninspiring school drama that I kind frequently lost interest while watching.

I remind who wanted to watch it that it was a simple story which was like some kind of a television episode. The fantasy parts were too small to notice and the love story was very boring to emotionally feel it. It might suit for those who're seeking matured contents in an anime fantasy-romance than a cute and quirky narration. My point is it is for adults than children.

Overall, it failed to reach my expectations, but the online film rating says many has liked it. So don't mind me if you're considering it, but my review causing confusion. Because you should not have to feel what I felt, everything I said in the review is from my personal viewpoint. So I believe your opinion might differ from mine.

Why the title is bad parents? I think the fact is the foundation, the starting point of the whole story. I never saw before a movie such as bad parents, like this one. The father blames his daughter about divorce. The mother is ashamed because Jun cannot speak."The neighbors talk about us".- she said during the story. Have a mother on earth who can do this his own child??? I doubt it, but... I open the question. I can not decide the parents really blame Jun about divorce or is just simply the fact when a child blame herself by the reason of the parents' mistakes. The anime is a love story, but the anime built about this episode. Actually, I found the story boring, the movie is very slow. The sketches, the scenery are beautiful. The idea is also good, but the developing is slow and I could not get a rewarding answer in the end. Everybody finds his right one, but what is the point? The characters are evolving, everybody taught something the end of the movie. That is a good point. I think this anime ideal for teens and adults whose love this kind of love stories. Is it ideal for kids? Maybe? So if you like slow, fantasy, teens love stories, you probably like this one too.

I'm very sorry for main character. Even this is Love Anime, sad main character become much horrible state at the end when she get rejected. How you can call this is a love anime even there is no love. I wish I can punch author's face for make my heart become so sad, give me back my time and emotion I waste. This is not romance anime, this is a sad drama anime without love. Its Horrible. I wish I can give zero for this anime. Such poor main character, why, why you make her so sad!!!!!!!!!!!
